In recent years, the presence of PFAS in water sources has become a growing global concern. These persistent chemicals are increasingly detected in surface and groundwater bodies, raising awareness about potential risks to public health and the environment. In Thailand as well, industry stakeholders and regulators have begun to place stronger attention on monitoring and reducing PFAS concentrations.
Innosep has recently received inquiries to conduct testing on PFAS reduction in surface water. In response, we are actively advancing our research and pilot studies to evaluate the performance of different membrane technologies for PFAS removal. While conventional high-pressure membrane systems such as Nanofiltration (NF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) are widely recognized for their capability to remove PFAS, we believe that solutions should not be limited to a single pathway.
For applications requiring ultra-high purity, Membrane Distillation (MD) presents an alternative technology route. MD leverages a temperature-driven separation mechanism that offers advantages beyond conventional pressure-driven membranes, particularly in producing high-quality permeate while maintaining strong rejection of non-volatile contaminants—including PFAS.
By exploring and validating multiple treatment approaches, Innosep is committed to providing reliable, adaptable, and science-driven solutions to address PFAS challenges in both industrial and municipal water systems. This is part of our broader mission to support responsible water resource management and safeguard community health through advanced membrane technologies.
