Membrane Technology for Chemical Recycling: A Promising Step Forward in Metal Processing

Last Friday, Innosep hosted a successful on-site test with a metal processing company aiming to reduce chemical consumption and minimize environmental impact in their current operations. The focus of the testing was to explore how membrane technology can be applied to recycle metal- and chemical-containing solvents commonly used in metal surface treatment processes.

The test was conducted at Innosep's facility using one of our membrane test systems. The client, a well-established player in the metal fabrication industry, brought their own laboratory test unit to measure metal concentrations in the treated water. This setup enabled real-time monitoring of membrane performance and immediate verification of engineering efficiency.

The results excited our client greatly. The permeate water treated by Innosep's membrane system showed a significant reduction in metal content, demonstrating the potential to recover wastewater and reuse valuable chemicals. This provides a proven path toward not only reducing operational costs but also achieving long-term sustainability goals which aligns with their global establishments outside of Thailand.
